Job Description
Is the second working level of the engineering series. Incumbents
perform moderate to complex engineering tasks with limited
supervision and lead routine engineering projects. This role has no
direct reports.

- Coordinates, prepares and/or assembles the engineering
package/project documentation for each assigned project based on
direction provided from manager
- Collaboration
- Interfaces with people, departments, and/or companies to ensure
that equipment is safe, made on schedule and to specification
- Provides the purchasing services for project materials
required. This includes reviewing potential vendors, contacts with
vendors, coordinating with the Purchasing department, issuing
purchase orders, some price negotiation, and expediting
delivery.

- Manages project costs, project scheduling, and communicates
pertinent data to appropriate areas for engineering projects which
may vary in terms of scope and responsibilities.
- Completes Project Closeout and Postmortem Analysis for
appropriate projects.
- Results and Outperformance
- Actively participates on continuous improvement / kaizen teams
and leads teams as requested.
- Secures and maintains knowledge of current industry practices
as they may apply to Amcor products and equipment.
- Assists with installation, checkout, start-up and training as
necessary.

- Performs engineering calculations to support facility and
manufacturing infrastructure engineering work
- Creates and reviews technical drawings, plans, and
specifications utilizing computer software
- Controls
- Creates, and plans programming, configuration, integration,
networking and communication services using equipment and software
from a variety of HMI, SCADA, and PLC manufacturers, as well as
various communication protocols.
- Performs testing and validation of machine instrumentation with
the controls package.
- Fosters integration and development of team IT resources
related to engineering functions such as PLC/machine control, HMI
function and edge device use.
- Creates and reviews technologies to be used for future
applications and extensions of current architecture.
- Mechanical
- Creates, and plans designs for mechanical machine systems.
- Performs testing and validation of mechanical machine designs
and systems.
- Performs engineering calculations to support design and
mechanical engineering work
- Creates and reviews technical drawings, plans, and
specifications utilizing computer software
- Electrical
- Creates, and plans designs for electrical machine systems.
- Performs testing and validation of electrical machine designs
and systems.
- Performs engineering calculations to support design and
electrical engineering work
- Creates and reviews technical drawings, plans, and
specifications utilizing computer software
- Industrial
- Conducts studies for small-scale projects pertaining to cost
control, cost reduction, inventory control, and production record
systems. Based on these studies, develops and implements optimized
product flow.
- Responsible for validating IE requirements for small-scale
projects with multiple automation integrators and verifies that
automation solution/proposals aligned with business strategies
using Just-In-Time/Lean manufacturing tools and techniques.
- Collects/Analyzes data for small-scale projects and works with
the IPT to validate current state processes/flows to establish an
accurate model of the operation of a system. Establishes Discrete
Event Simulation (DES) baseline for small-scale projects and
collaborates with the IPT to propose/validate future automation
solutions that improve cycle time, WIP, bottlenecks, throughput,
capacity, resource utilization, and production rate changes of
complex production systems.
- Automation
- Assist in investigations and concepts of new automation
solutions to solve manufacturing issues. Automation solutions can
include (industrial robotics, AGVs/AMRs, cobots, right-sized
automation, inspection systems, etc.)
- Develops test plans to burndown risk for automation projects
and set requirements for FATs and SATs.
- Performs testing and validation of small-scale automation
systems.
- Reviews technical drawings, plans, proposals, RFQs, RFQ
responses, and specifications for small-scale automation work.
- IoT
- Creates, and plans designs for data collection and analysis,
SPC, machine learning and artificial intelligence.
- Performs testing and validation of IoT systems.
- Develops and deploys IoT technology solution to the
business.

- Bachelor's degree in engineering
- Electrical, Mechanical, CS&E, Controls/Automation
Engineering or related technical field
- 3 - 6 years' experience
