Job Description:The Parts and Service Manager and Marina Manager
is responsible to uphold Your Boat Club standards. - This person is
solely responsible to ensure that every boat entering the service
department receives the same urgency. - The Manager is responsible
for making the parts and service department a clean, productive,
encouraging, and safe work environment.Reporting Relationships:The
Parts & Service Manager reports to the Director of Service and is
also accountable to the General Manager of the location. - The
parts and service team all report to the Parts and Service
Manager.Detailed Responsibilities:
- Ensure that all boats are returned to the customer quickly,
with no damage, and repaired correctly.
- Maintain service and yard equipment.
- Maintain effective communications between all customers and
service department.
- Perform a 3-day call back on all service work.
- Handle delegated duties in any offsite locations requiring
service.
- Maintain work schedule for service staff to ensure consistent
coverage of the parts and service department.
- Conduct weekly parts and service staff team meetings to review
budget and concerns.
- Require daily meetings at the action file, to ensure all tasks
for the day are completed.
- Daily inspection of the service system, to ensure proper
paperwork flow, and customer communication. -
- Ensure that warranties are being reported by all personnel to
the warranty department.
- Report all warranties with the appropriate paperwork and
pictures if needed, to the manufacturers.
- Follow up on all uncollected warranties. - Review weekly and
monthly reports.
- Finalize the claim, applying shortages, or receiving payment in
full, and complete the cycle on all work orders.
- Follow up on denied claims to collect from customer.
- Protect our relationship with manufactures by filing only
ethical, timely, and correct claims.
- Ensure that all warranty parts that need to be returned and all
parts that need to be held are kept in a designated, clearly marked
area in each store.
- Pre-authorize all claims that are over designated manufacture
amount.
- Make sure the warranty claim is filed within 8 working hours
from completion.
- Ensure that the rigging department is following the appropriate
rigging procedures.
- Inspect rigging, service, and parts to ensure that all
customers are handled quickly and appropriately.
- Keep a clean and professional workplace, to ensure the customer
has a positive impression.
- Be diligent in the protection of Your Boat Club from theft,
vandalism, and unnecessary expenses.
- Approve invoices -and match invoices to statements.
- Maintain compliances and certifications.
- Prior to any boat leaving the lot the customer repair bill must
be paid in full.
- Review till reconciliations and cash handling process.
- Perform bank deposits (daily/weekly).
- Manage and Maintain Marina Storage and on site In/Out
Customers.
- Supervise and advise Dockhands to include YBC (Your Boat Club)
