Job Summary
Assemble high precision mechanical & pneumatic components into
complex machine assemblies according to blue prints and work
instructions.
ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS
This list of duties and responsibilities is not all inclusive and

Safety: Work safely. Participate in the identification and
elimination of hazards in the workplace. Adhere to all safety
policies, procedures, SOPs, and practices as applicable. Properly
use and care for PPE. Maintain housekeeping standards in your work
area.
Quality: Adhere to all quality policies, objectives, procedures,
and work instructions. Strive to meet or exceed the needs of all
customer, both documented and implied. Ability to use precision
measuring devices to verify parts and equipment are to
specifications.
Inventory Control: Be aware of and adhere to all applicable
material handling and inventory control measures.
Communication: Maintain respectful communications at all times with
coworkers, supervisors, customers, and support personnel.
Comprehend and ability to express thoughts and ideas with the
English language in both oral and written form.
Blueprint Reading: Be able to read and interpret complex
engineering drawings in order to assemble mechanical components
into complete assemblies. Read detail drawings in order to verify
that individual components were manufactured in conformance to
drawing specifications. Be able to read, understand, and apply
information specified in a bill of material. Read and apply drawing
notes and special instructions.
Technical Skills: Assemble parts, subassemblies, and assemblies per
specifications. Self-directed problem solving and ability to
determine components, assembly methods, and sequence of operations.
Apply basic engineering principles and consult with engineering as
needed. Possess and apply knowledge of industry and KCC codes for
mechanical assemblies. Possess and apply knowledge of commonly used
mechanical components, fasteners, methods, solvents, cleaners,
etc.
Troubleshooting: Analyze mechanical components and assemblies to
identify and correct items that do not fit correctly, need
adjustment, are worn or damaged, need replacement, require
lubrication, etc.
Material Handling: Understand and apply lifting and rigging
techniques. Choose proper size and type of material handling
equipment for the work being performed. Operate forklift, overhead
hoists, portable cranes, chain hoists, electric and manual
hydraulic jacks, etc.
Power and Hand Tool Operation: Be able to properly select and use
small hand tools, portable power tools, stationary power tools, and
machine tools normally used by millwrights (e.g. Bridgeport, lathe,
drill, tap, torque, torque monitoring, rivet, hammer, ream, saw,
cut, grind, and similar processes). Utilize ladders and lifts as
necessary. Use precision and semi-precision measuring tools as
required for the work being performed. Must possess own tool box
with common tools.
Qualifications:
Mathematical Skills: Basic high school math, including the ability
to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure,
using whole numbers, fractions, and decimals. Also should possess a
comprehensive understanding of geometry and some algebra.
Reasoning Ability: Deductive reasoning ability to independently
solve problems with little to no direction.
Education: Technical Diploma/Associates Degree in related field
preferred
Experience: Prefer prior experience working in millwright trade or
equivalent military experience.
Work Hours: Nominally 5 days/week, 7:00 a.m. - 3:00 p.m. Overtime
as required. Flexible to work some shifts/weekends as needed to
meet customers' delivery needs and maximize asset utilization.
