SUMMARY:The Parent Support Program provides in-home services to
parents and families to address needs for: parenting skills,
behavior modification techniques, anger and stress management, life
skills, family budgeting skills, and more. The Parent Recovery
Specialist is responsible for providing services to parents
referred to our program from Winnebago County Child Welfare and are
struggling with mental health and/or substance use issues. The
primary focus of services is connecting clients with treatment,
providing recovery support, and being an advocate for the client.
The secondary role of the Parent Recovery Specialist is to assist
with parenting and other areas of need in the person's life such as
connecting to community resources and supporting client
goals.ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:
- Conduct an assessment to evaluate both the strengths and needs
of assigned client(s).
- Analyze history, capabilities, and needs to determine what
services are required to meet the needs of the client.
- Create and evaluate goal-oriented and strength-based treatment
plan.
- Develop a crisis/safety plan for the client.
- Address the basic needs of the client, in addition to any
therapeutic intervention, to increase effectiveness on issues such
as parenting, housing and employability.
- Maintain consistent contact with client and serve as an
advocate.
- Safely transport clients as needed.LOCATION: Office is located
in Oshkosh, WI. Flexibility to work hybrid/remote when client
meetings are not scheduled. Local travel will be required to meet
with clients. Mileage reimbursement is provided for work travel.
Must be able to meet in-person with clients located in Winnebago
County.HOURS: Monday-Friday between 8:00am-5:00pm with occasional

- Must have reliable transportation daily, a valid driver's
license and automobile insurance.
- Must have a bachelor's degree in Social Work, Psychology,
Criminal Justice, or related.
- At minimum, must have a base understanding of mental health and
substance use disorders.
- One year of previous experience working with individuals with
