Job Description:
Wysocki Family Farms has an exciting opportunity for a full-time
Agronomy Assistant that has a passion for Agriculture! In this
role, you will gain hands-on experience in the field collecting
data used by management for decision meeting. This role is a
perfect fit for those early in their agronomy career by providing
the training and skills necessary to prepare for career
advancement. The agronomy assistant will be collecting data used to
develop land and crop production plans along with providing
hands-on field work during planting, growing, and harvesting. The
agronomy assistant leads the research and development field team,
including crop scouts and peers, to ensure accuracy of field work
that facilitates reports used by management for decision making.

for? Associates Degree in in Agronomy, Horticulture, Plant
Pathology, Soil Science, or related fields or commensurate
combination of education and experienceBasic understanding of farm
technology and data controlsAbility to organize and multi-task in a
fast-paced environment for optimal successConfident use knowledge
to lead crop scouts and peersIntermediate application and use of
Microsoft Office productsMust obtain state of Wisconsin pesticide
applicator license within 6 months Valid Driver's License with
acceptable driving recordAccountabilities Collects data used for
developing land and crop production plans. Provides hands-on field
work during planting, growing, and harvesting. Leads the research
and development field team including crop scouts and peers to
ensure accuracy of field work correlating to data used in
management decision making.Field research setup and maintenance of
laboratory which includes yearly pressure washing and sanitation of
all macrobins and cratesAssists operating and/or transporting
equipment & machinery during planting and harvestIn-season data
collection of crop development metrics, pest and weed pressure, and
management of external lab sample submissions. Conducts field
sampling, potato storage sampling, and storage monitoring of trial
work and production fields.Performs in-season treatment
applications of fertilizer and pesticide products to R&D
trials.Summarizes and communicates in-season updates and trial
results to the Agronomy team.Performs regular inspections of crop
fields for weeds, insects, diseases, and other crop limiting
threatsAssists in lab evaluation of production samples and R&D
workUtilizes agricultural management software to access data from
production fields and provide summary reports of management
activities.Evaluates crop planting, growing and harvesting inputs
and results using data from multiple farm sources and personal
observation. Operates various farm machinery including but not
limited to sprayers, planters, harvesters and forklifts in support
of farm operations.Respects and safely operates equipment as
intended in operator manuals or company policy and applies
chemicals as required by the label. Adheres to all food safety
regulations and expectations of customer.Responds timely to team
members seeking information or direction on land, crop plans and
